Reflections on Palm Sunday
Nuestro Socorro, y Domingo de Hojas de Palmeras
Where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth (Psalm 121:1-2). What a great reality this Psalm is for those of us who have believed in Christ Jesus. Certainly He is our keeper. Our good Shepherd does not sleep, He cares for and watches over each one of the sheep that He has bought with his blood and surely He will do so in this way until he presents us, without blemish and without fault, before the presence of His glory (Jude 1:24). Cheer up brother.
God is not wrong, He does not make mistakes, nothing takes him by surprise, he does not need plan B. This moment we are living in is God's the plan A. This week that most of us are at home is a propitious moment to look at the cross and see God's provision for the fallen man. His beloved Son taking our place to bear the Father's wrath upon Himself so that we would then receive the forgiveness and justice of Christ.
This week has nothing to do with palm leaves, I remind you that those who threw the palm leaves in front of Him were the same ones who hours later cried out for his Crucifixion. This week also has nothing to do with hidden colored eggs, it is certainly not a time of religiosity or entertainment. It is a week to meditate and give thanks because the Son of God came to this earth to die for sinners and He resurrected to justify them
De donde vendrá mi socorro? Mi socorro viene del Señor que hizo los cielos y la tierra (Salmo 121:1-2), que gran realidad es este Salmo para aquellos que hemos creído en Cristo Jesús, ciertamente El es nuestro guardador. Nuestro buen Pastor no duerme, El cuida y vela por cada una de las ovejas que ha comprado con su sangre y de seguro lo hará de esta manera hasta que nos presente sin mancha y sin caída delante de su gloria (Judas 1:24). Animo hermano.
Dios no se equivoca, El no comete errores, nada lo toma por sorpresa, El no necesita plan B. El momento en que estamos viviendo es el plan A de Dios, en esta semana que la mayoría están en casa es un momento propicio para mirar a la cruz y ver la provisión de Dios para el hombre caído, su Hijo amado tomando el lugar de nosotros para cargar con la ira del Padre sobre El para que entonces nosotros recibiésemos el perdón y la justicia de Cristo.
Esta semana no tiene nada que ver con hojas de palmeras, le recuerdo que aquellos que tiraron las hojas de palmas delante de El, fueron los mismos que pidieron a gritos horas después que le crucificaren. Esta semana tampoco tiene nada que ver con huevitos de colores escondidos, ciertamente no es tiempo de religiosidad ni de entretenimiento, es una semana para meditar y dar gracias porque el Hijo de Dios vino a esta tierra a morir por los pecadores y resucitó para justificarlos.
