The meaning of Ordination

(El significado de la ordenación)

Gracia y paz a vosotros, de Dios nuestro Padre y del Señor Jesucristo.
Queridos hermanos, este domingo estaremos celebrando el décimo aniversario de la iglesia que coincide con el día de los padres, será un día muy especial ya que será la ordenación al ministerio de nuestro hermano Willi Echevarria Jr. 

Para aquellos que no conocen el significado de la ordenación quiero explicarles brevemente lo que significa: Dios desea que su iglesia sea liderada por una multiplicidad de hombres que El ha llamado y equipado para esta incomparable labor, debe de ser un hombre que primero tenga el deseo de poner su vida al servicio de Dios completamente sin ningún interés que no sea otro que el de traer gloria a Cristo y edificar y proteger a su cuerpo que es la iglesia.

Debe de ser un hombre que esté caracterizado por una vida piadosa, según las Escrituras debe de ser un hombre irreprensible (no perfecto, nadie clasificaría), pero sí que no haya una mancha en su vida que traiga vergüenza al evangelio.
Pablo continúa diciendo que tiene que ser marido de una sola mujer (y eso envuelve los pensamientos), sobrio, prudente, decoroso, hospedador, apto para enseñar, no dado al vino, no pendenciero, no codicioso de ganancias deshonestas, amable, apacible, no avaro, que gobierne bien su casa, que tenga a sus hijos en sujeción (si tiene hijos), que no sea un recién convertido para que no se le suba a la cabeza y que tenga buen testimonio de los de afuera, es decir aquellos que no son parte de su familia, amigos, compañeros de trabajo, gente que no conoce a Cristo, pero que puedan ver en él un hombre piadoso. (1 Timoteo 3:1-7).

Quiero añadir un comentario personal, nadie que entra al ministerio por primera vez es un experto en la materia, y nunca lo será. La iglesia de Cristo es un lugar lleno de personas imperfectas que están siendo perfeccionadas (algunas de ellas), y es un taller que Dios usa grandemente para acelerar este proceso primeramente en la vida de los líderes. Willi ya es un líder dentro de la iglesia Luz Eterna desde hace mucho tiempo y el domingo solo será una confirmación pública de este compromiso que lleva ejercitando y que ahora entra en una nueva etapa. 

Como Pastor de la iglesia Luz Eterna que soy por la gracia del Señor, estoy muy contento de que Willi este sirviendo a mi lado y confío en Dios plenamente que continuará perfeccionando en su vida lo que un día comenzó.

Como Pastor de la iglesia Luz Eterna también quiero darle gracias en este décimo aniversario primeramente al Señor que hasta aquí nos ha traído (Solo El ha podido), también a todos mis hermanos que han sido parte de este ministerio, algunos que ya no están y a todos aquellos que hoy forman parte de esta iglesia y hacen todo lo que hacen para la gloria de Dios.
En especial a mi amada esposa Mari que ha estado creciendo junto a mi todos estos años, apoyándome, animándome, algunas veces soportándome, orando por mi, riendo, llorando, gozándose y también sufriendo, una mujer que ha sabido comprender el llamado de su esposo y ha abrazado la verdad bíblica del ministerio pastoral que es solo para hombres de Dios. Para ella es más que suficiente ser primeramente una redimida del Señor, su hija amada y la esposa de un Pastor imperfecto como yo. Dios la ha usado en gran manera detrás del escenario y las luces y sobre todo la ha usado en mi vida, por ella doy gracias al Señor, al igual que por cada uno de mis hermanos en la fe y le pido al Señor que continúe bendiciendo esta obra y a cada uno de aquellos que en ella estamos envueltos.

Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
Dear brothers, this Sunday we will be celebrating the tenth anniversary of the church that coincides with Father's Day. It will be a very special day since it will be the ordination to the ministry of our brother Willi Echevarria Jr.

For those who do not know the meaning of ordination, I want to briefly explain what it means: God wants His church to be led by a multiplicity of men that He has called and equipped for this incomparable work.  He must be a man who first has the desire to put his life at the service of God completely without any other interest than to bring glory to Christ and build and protect his body that its the church.     

He must be a man who is characterized by a godly life, according to the Scriptures he must be a blameless man (not perfect, no one would classify), but there should not be a stain in his life that brings shame to the gospel.
Paul goes on to say that he must be a husband of only one woman (and that involves thoughts), sober, prudent, decent, hospitable, able to teach, not given to wine, not quarrelsome, not greedy for dishonest profit, kind, gentle, not miser, that he governs his house well, that he has his children in subjection (If he has children), that he is not a new convert so that it will not go to his head and that he has a good testimony from outsiders, meaning those who are not part of his family, friends, co-workers, people who do not know Christ, but that they may see in him a godly man. (1 Timothy 3: 1-7)

I want to add a personal comment, no one entering the ministry for the first time is an expert on the subject, and never will be. The church of Christ is a place filled with imperfect people who are being perfected (some of them), and it is a workshop that God uses greatly to accelerate this process first in the lives of the leaders. Willi has been a leader within the Luz Eterna church for a long time and Sunday will only be a public confirmation of this commitment that he has been exercising and now is entering a new phase.

As Pastor of Luz Eterna Church, that I am by the grace of the Lord, I am very happy that Willi is serving by my side and I trust in God fully that he will continue perfecting in his life what one day he began.

As Pastor of Luz Eterna church, I also want to give thanks on this tenth anniversary first of all to the Lord who has brought us up to here (He alone has been able), also to all my brothers who have been part of this ministry, some who are no longer here and to all those who today are part of this church and do everything they do for the glory of God.
Especially to my beloved wife Mari who has been growing together with me all these years, supporting me, encouraging me, sometimes putting up with me, praying for me, laughing, crying, enjoying and also suffering, a woman who understands her husband's call and has embraced the biblical truth of the pastoral ministry that is only for men of God. For her it is more than enough to be first redeemed by the Lord, to be His beloved daughter and to be the wife of an imperfect Pastor like me. God has used her in a great way behind the scenes and the lights and above all He has used her in my life;  for her I give thanks to the Lord,  as well as for each one of my brothers in the faith and I ask the Lord to continue blessing this work and each one of those who are involved in it.
